The programs build the participants’ sense of social responsibility, creativity, and leadership skills. Children and youth study past civilizations and learn from their knowledge, adaptation techniques and lifestyles. They learn about the values of heritage, its importance to their communities and their vital role in protecting and preserving it.

PNT programs instill a sense of identity in the participants that is rooted in heritage, inclusive and forward-looking. This is achieved by connecting history and past civilizations to the modern day lives of the participants in tangible and meaningful ways that illustrate shared human values across time and geographic borders.

The program curricula emphasize the importance of shared values and a sense of commitment to the community. These skills are acquired through a series of carefully designed activities and experiences that aim to build a responsible outlook towards the participants own behavior and their relationship to one another, their community, heritage sites and the environment.

Participants are challenged to think critically and out of the box. The programs stimulate their minds to use logic and identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and to find alternative and creative solutions.

Participants engage in a set of activities that are designed for work in pairs or in groups to achieve a specific objective. The programs aim to build the participants ability to negotiate solutions, work in teams and create a space that accepts varying opinions. The programs also introduce networking and conflict resolution skills

Throughout our programs, we motivate our participants to search for knowledge and take control of their learning. The programs introduce concept of continuous learning, encouraging the participants to become independent knowledge seekers beyond the classroom and program period.

Participants acquire time management skills as they participate in activities within a specific time frame. This process emphasizes the importance of time, being respectful of other people’s time and of deadlines.

The programs are designed with a strong community service component that builds a sense of responsibility towards the community, heritage and the environment. Many of the program sessions also include training for volunteers who work along side trainers.

Through the program, youth and children learn communication skills, both oral and written. They also learn how to organize and present, building both presentation and public speaking skills.

To help instill a good work ethic to prepare participants for the workplace, PNT programs include a component that focuses on entrepreneurial skills and initiative. The programs aim to address the need to diversify employment opportunities in and around heritage sites beyond tourism to include prospects in the cultural industries andrelated to intangible cultural heritage practices.

Continuous updating & developing process

Since 2010, PNT has continuously developed and updated its education program in response to changing needs, technological and knowledge developments and feedback. PNT incorporates into the program a regular and systematic feedback process based on input from participants as well as independent monitoring and evaluation.

Follow Up with Graduates & Communities
Body
PNT has built an alumni base of over 3,000 children and youth. PNT follows up with the participants after the program's conclusion, to maintain contact, learn of their progress and connect them to new opportunities. To continue building the participant base and to maintain relations with the community, PNT maintains contact with parents and members of the local community to continue the goal of awareness-raising, to reinforce the program’s messages and build a solid base of change at the level of society.
